4.2.12

Home at last. Week of family vacation, then a quick trip to Atlanta for business meetings. Nothing never changes. Squabbling daughters, rambunctious Yorkie Poo, mounds of vacation laundry to be done.

I used to feel guilty about needing the help of housekeepers every two weeks. I'm Superwoman, right? I like to think so, but not so much. That sticky spot on the kitchen floor, the perpetual blob of toothpaste in MY bathroom (why can't they use their OWN and give me my space???) drive me beyond crazy. So a logical person would say, "get some help." Right? Easier said than done sometimes for Type A women such as ourselves. Just once in a while, start practicing scaling back and asking for help in some small area of your life. Small stuff...have your neighbor watch your daughter for an hour on Saturday so you can take a walk. Go to the local library and immerse yourself in new books and the totally enveloping silence of a reading room.

Today, be GENTLE with yourself.
